A goal down after just twelve seconds meant that the Pars were always chasing this game. Two dubious penalties in the second half completed an unhappy afternoon in the sun.

A glamour friendly against a star studded Arsenal side to mark the official opening of the new look East End Park. Having scored three times in the first half, Arsenal looked likely to run up a cricket score in the second half, however they clearly eased up, and Dunfermline played a little better than they had during the first period. Nevertheless, an entertaining match.

The Pars opening goal of the season after 225 minutes of play came courtesy of a controversial penalty, awarded after Jim Weir downed Crawford in the box. Crawford converted. Saints equalised with a penalty six minutes into the second half after Doesburg had brought McBride down.  Not a good afternoon for Stewart Petrie who broke his leg after just 20 minutes.

Following his leg break against St Johnstone, Stewart Petrie is expected to be out for several months.

Although well beaten in the end, the Pars made Rangers work hard  for their win. Highlight of the afternoon was Stephen Boyle's well taken goal. Two first team starts for Boyle, and two goals. His afternoon was spoilt after being stretchered off with just 28 minutes on the clock.

A quite dreadful game, with the spectators thankfully saved from 30 minutes extra time by Stephen Boyle's late strike, from an Eddie May shot which had been blocked.

An excellent win courtesy of a superb Stevie Crawford strike just before half time. After some beautiful passing moves across the field, the ball reached Crawford in the box, whose turn and shot deceived Combe. First appearance of the season for the new red away strip.
