Comments:

Informed by DAFC that his contract would not be renewed at the end of Season 2001/2002, Doesburg elected to return early to his native Holland. Signed from Motherwell, initially on loan, towards the end of promotion winning season 1999/2000, Doesburg proved to be a consistent player, who always gave the impression of playing for the jersey. Doesy's time at East End Park was blighted by a number of injuries which restricted the number of appearances he made. Shortly after leaving EEP, Michel was signed by Dutch First Division team FZ Zwolle, to help their promotion push.
